Fans of the Lucasfilm animated series Star Wars Resistance on Disney XD have had a pretty good week. They got a glimpse into the immediate future of the show and were assured the long term outlook is rosy.
Resistance has officially been renewed for a second season that will premiere this fall on Disney XD. It will not jump over to the new Disney+ streaming platform expected to launched later this year with the return of The Clone Wars for a new season.
The renewal comes mere days away from when the back half of Season 1 begins this Sunday evening.
Almost simultaneously, Lucasfilm released a new trailer for the final Season 1 episodes that officially crossover with the events of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
If you want to avoid spoilers regarding which scenes crosses over then it’s best not to watch the trailer below. However, if you don’t mind then please dig in as there’s quite a bit of new material to unpack and digest.
