Twisted Metal PS3 E3 Gameplay Footage and Screens

Sony’s big surprise reveal to conclude their E3 2010 keynote address was the introduction of Twisted Metal for Playstation 3 complete with a life-size ice cream truck and maniacal clown driver.

Twisted Metal founds and developers David Jaffe and Scott Campbell at Eat Sleep Play won’t wrap the game until 2011 but they have released numerous details about what we can expect. The game will feature four factions of four human players each for a total of up to 16 players battling simultaneously online via PSN. Two to four player split-screen will be available on and offline, as well as a single-player campaign where you have to win a prize from the Twisted Metal mastermind, Calypso.

Over a dozen vehicles will be available to choose from, many inspired by vehicles from past Twisted Metal games. One, a helicopter, will be the first playable flying vehicle to appear in the franchise with the added benefit of being able to use a large magnet to pick up teammates and strategically place them elsewhere on the battlefield.

Levels will be much larger and more destructive than seen in any previous Twisted Metal game. What you destroy may influence a match when the landscape changes radically.
