Season 5 of AMC’s The Walking Dead is shaping up to be like a new installment of the Predator franchise if the latest piece of promotional artwork is on the money.
Today AMC released The Walking Dead Season 5 key art that once again features Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) as its sole focus. The tag line reads, “Hunt or Be Hunted,” and shows a grizzled Rick in the woods with revolver drawn and a look of angst on his face.
Season 4 began with Rick embracing a new pacifist lifestyle at the prison, taking up farming as a hobby and generally not thinking about the world outside the fences. With the prison gone and his group’s survival at stake, Season 5’s Rick is a stark contrast.
The Walking Dead Season 5 is expected to pick up right where Season 4 left off with Rick and most of his group being held prisoner by Gareth and his own group living at Terminus. The Walking Dead Season 5 trailer painted a picture where Rick, Daryl (Norman Reedus) and the others are heavily featured outside of Terminus, so the expectation is that they will escape in the season’s first act, if not the premiere episode.
AMC will premiere The Walking Dead Season 5 on Sunday, October 12 at 9/8c.
