Star Wars Rebels Comic-Con Plans and Creation of Chopper

Lucasfilm upcoming Disney XD TV series Star Wars Rebels will be making a big splash at the San Diego Comic-Con in a couple weeks with its own dedicated panel loaded up with the talent and creative minds behind the show.

The Star Wars Rebels Comic-Con Panel will feature executive producesr Dave Filoni and Simon Kinberg, the latter of whom has yet to make a Con appearance to promote the show. Voice talent Freddie Prinze, Jr., Vanessa Marshall, Steve Blum, Tiya Sircar, and Taylor Gray will also be on hand to discuss their characters.

The panel promises “several exclusive premieres,” though what those are we won’t know until the event goes down. I would expect a new trailer, perhaps a clip, and maybe even the reveal of new ships and/or characters that fans of the original Star Wars trilogy will find familiar. The reveal of a Star Wars Rebels premiere date seems highly likely as well.

The Lucasfilm panel is officially titled The Heroes of Star Wars Rebels. It will commence on Thursday, July 24 from 6-7:pm in Room: 6BCF at Comic-Con. Note that Lucasfilm nor Disney has planned to bring Star Wars: Episode VII to Comic-Con in any shape or form.

Below you will find a newly released Star Wars Rebels poster, as well as a behind-the-scenes video that tracks the creation of a life-size Chopper model, the little Astromech droid in the series that takes center stage while R2-D2 is doing his own thing.
