Tonight Comedy Central is premiering the highly anticipated and sure to be entertaining Roast of James Franco with Seth Rogen leading a panel of Roasters determined to trash Franco’s career with no holds barred at the scheduled start time of 10pm EST. Comedy Central is offering the ability to watch the James Franco Roast via free live online streaming on the web and via Xbox 360 with instructions that you will find below.
The festivities begin at 9:45pm with a Comedy Central Roast of James Franco red carpet pre-show. These 15 minutes of wisecracks are exclusive to the online streaming version of the show and will be hosted by Franco’s real-life grandmother, Mitzie Verne, and comedian Jonah Ray. Mitzie will be entertaining guests from an interview couch, while Ray engages celebrities with trivia games that have a hidden agenda.
If you’re wondering who will Roast James Franco tonight then wonder no more. Joining Roast Master Seth Rogen are his fellow comedians Nick Kroll, Aziz Ansari, Bill Hader, Jeff Ross, Jonah Hill, Sarah Silverman, Natasha Leggero, and Andy Samberg. Each will be given a block of time to Roast Franco until we laugh ourselves into tears.
There’s no shortage of material and career decisions to turn against Franco and the Roaster should have a field day. There’s his strong performance as Alien in Spring Breakers to counter against an appearance in The Green Hornet, the lead in Rise of the Planet of the Apes and a bizarre night hosting the Academy Awards, his turn as Harry Osborn in Sam Raimi’s The Amazing Spider-Man Trilogy, and of course who can forget his turn as Fabious in the horrific Your Highness.
Comedy Central is trying to tap into social media tonight big time for the James Franco Roast. After the premiere airing at 10pm EST, an encore performance will air at 11:30pm EST and include real-time tweets and Facebook posts popping up on-screen during the show. I’d personally prefer the social media-free version but that’s just me.
