The Avengers Legos Offer New Look at Loki’s Army

The Avengers Legos Offer New Look at Loki's ArmyLego was careful earlier this month at Toy Fair 2012 not to reveal Loki’s mysterious army that will appear in this summer’s upcoming Marvel film The Avengers. They displayed the “Avengers” portion of two sets that also included Loki’s army, but hid everything else.

Thanks to ToysRUs.com, the complete contents of both Lego The Avengers sets have been revealed. Lego was still wise not to include actual names for Loki’s pals, but we get a good glimpse of what Thor, Captain America, Iron Man, the Hulk and S.H.I.E.L.D. friends will be up against.

Mild spoilers are ahead so proceed at your own risk.

The first set is called LEGO Super Heroes Captain America’s Avenging Cycle and includes Cap, his cycle, a “General and foot Soldier,” the “General’s Craft,” and a “Foot Soldier’s Gun Stand with Missile.” The General’s craft has folding wings and a flick missile.

The second set is the LEGO Super Heroes Quinjet Aerial Battle and includes the Quinjet, Thor, Iron Man, Black Widow, Loki, another Foot Soldier, and Loki’s Chariot that the Foot Soldier is pulling along.

A closer look at the Lego version of Loki’s Army depicts what appears to be purple-ish creatures donning gold armor. It’s still too difficult to definitively say whether they are Skrulls, Atlanteans or something else. In these images they do look different than the green reptilian-looking creatures seen in The Avengers Super Bowl spot.

These Lego The Avengers sets are expected to ship on April 10.
