Sony’s February 20 event is looking more and more like the big Playstation 4 reveal after the first entry in a new video series popped up that steps back in time to trace the Playstation gaming console’s origins and success.
Titled Evolution of Playstation: The Beginning, the first of what will likely be three videos looks at the unveiling and launch of the first Playstation console in Japan in 1994, and its subsequent release in North America the following year. It really is like stepping back in time to see Playstation at E3 and buyers lining up to purchase it on opening day, and watching the forgotten sales milestones flash across the screen.
Sony promises more “evolution” videos in the days to come leading up to the big expected Playstation 4 reveal on February 20 at 6pm EST. Next up should be Playstation 2 on Monday, followed by Playstation 3 on Tuesday. Unless they build in PSP and PS Vita, in which case we will get the Playstation 2 video later today.
Jump on the hype train and get ready for the Internet to explode on Wednesday with cries of joy and screams of disappointment.
