Nintendo has released a new system update for 3DS that will improve the functionality of one feature and add a new one once the update is downloaded and installed.
With the update it will now be possible to continue to download items from the Nintendo eShop when the 3DS lid is shut and the system enters sleep mode. Closing the lid will automatically activate “download later” and the application or game selected will begin to download.
New to 3DS will be the ability to transfer save data from a physical card version of a game to a downloadable version of the same game. The only instance I could see this coming in handy is if you bought the physical version of say newly released Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon and decided you wanted the digital version instead, then bought the digital version and transferred the save data before selling the physical version.
