Showtime is continuing to promote Season 2 of Homeland and focus all attention squarely on the shows leads, Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) and Nicholas Brody (Damian Lewis).
The latest batch of Homeland: Season 2 goodies consist of a poster via EW and a pair of trailers. The poster features the tagline “It Hits Home,” which says a lot about the series but little about where Season 2 might be headed.
The trailers, however, are borderline creepy in their messaging and imagery. Carrie takes the spotlight in the first and looks as crazed as ever while images from her memory – that will be (temporarily?) lost as the season starts – rapidly flash in the background. Those eyes are capable of freaking just about anyone out.
In the second trailer, Brody appears to have been newly elected to Congress while Carrie looks on, lost and ousted from her post within the CIA. The characterization is a 180-degree turn from Season 1 when newly returned POW Brody was the outsider looking into society and Carrie was the center of attention.
Homeland: Season 2 gets underway on September 30, 2012 right after the Season 7 premiere of Dexter.
