Michael Chiklis Joins FX’s American Horror Story: Freak Show Family of Actors

Michael Chiklis Joins FX's American Horror Story: Freak Show Family of ActorsFX has beefed up the cast of American Horror Story family by adding veteran actor Michael Chiklis (The Shield, Fantastic Four) to the upcoming fourth season, subtitled Freak Show.

Series co-creator Ryan Murphy made the announcement at PaleyFest on Friday night. Chiklis will play the father of the character played by Evan Peters and ex-husband of the character played by Kathy Bates.

AHS: Freak Show is set in Jupiter, Florida around the year 1950. As the title implies, this season will revolve around a Freak Show that happens to be one of the last of its kind still operating in the United States.

Jessica Lange’s character will run the Freak Show and apparently is willing to go to any lengths to ensure it stays alive for as long as possible. Lange earned an Emmy for her Season 1 portrayal of Constance Langdon, and Season 4 is expected to be her final turn in the anthology TV series.

Other AHS cast members expected to extend their stay in the series and appear on American Horror Story: Freak Show include Angela Bassett, Sarah Paulson, Frances Conroy, Gabourey Sidibe and Jamie Brewer. Emma Roberts and Denis O’Hare are currently negotiating to return.

American Horror Story: Freak Show is expected to have a premiere date this October on FX.
