Online retailer Amazon.com has fully embraced Green Monday by putting one of their Kindle Fire HD models on sale, the second such Kindle-related sale this holiday season.
For the rest of tonight, the Kindle Fire HD 8.9″ tablet is on sale at Amazon.com for $50 off its usual price. This includes either the 16GB or 32GB model, with our without special offers. For those unfamiliar with Kindles, the special offers refer to advertisements that can appear on the tablet during boot up or as screensavers. These can be turned off at any time for around $15.
Because the Kindle Fire HD deal is Amazon’s Gold Box Deal of the Day, the $50 off promotion will end when the clock strikes midnight PST tonight. I don’t anticipate Amazon putting any Kindle models on sale again between now and the end of the year.
To take advantage of the $50 off Kindle Fire HD 8.9″ Green Monday deal, click the link below and use the promo code FIREHD89 at checkout. You will not get the $50 off unless that promo code is entered into the appropriate box during checkout.
Some quick Kindle Fire HD 8.9″ facts: the tablet runs at a resolution of 1920×1200 HD, includes Kindle FreeTime for kids with parental controls, and Prime members can enjoy instant video and take part in the Kindle Owners’ Lending Library.
Also note the Kindle PowerFast for Accelerated Charging device is on sale for half off at $9.99 and can be added to a Kindle Fire HD 8.9″ order by simply checking a box when adding the Kindle Fire HD to your shopping cart. The Kindle Fire HD does not come with one of these so it is a wise decision to add one.
One last time, the Kindle Fire HD Green Monday deal ends tonight at 11:59PM PST sharp. Once the clock strikes 12am on the west coast, this deal will be gone and the Kindle Fire HD with 8.9″ display will return to its normal price that starts at $299.
