About a month ago we, along with several other media outlets, received a mantle-worthy real-life cog tag in conjunction with the November 7 release of Gears of War 2 on Xbox 360. It is fairly compact yet solid and heavy, making it frankly one of the coolest swag items ever to land on our doorstep.
At the time of receipt the website the cog tag is linked to, www.gearsofwar2.com/lastday, was in the early stages of rollout. A unique CSID# printed on our cog tag allowed us access a couple locations on the site while others remained a mystery. More locations opened up over the past few weeks and now most if not all of the site is accessible without needing a cog tag CSID#.
Just today we discovered another use for the cog tag CSID# that wasn’t available when the site first launched and has nothing to do with unlocking new locations. Entering our unique number one last time opened up an exclusive Gears of War 2 desktop image of Marcus ready to kick some serious ass. You can check out that image, along with a few additional images of the cog tag and the box it came in, below.
The image does not offer spoilers or anything that will blow your mind. It is unique to HDR and part of a larger set of images from cog togs for anyone bitten by Pokemon fever that has to collect them all. Good luck with that, soldier.
