Multiple European online retailers have begun taking pre-orders for the first wave, or what is confirmed to be in the first wave, of Disney Infinity character figures. With the pre-orders come decent resolution packaging shots of the exact same figures that were playable at the Disney Infinity media day a couple weeks ago.
Comprising either part or all of Disney Infinity wave 1 figures are Dash, Mrs. Incredible, Violet and Syndrome from The Incredibles; Mike Wozowski from Monsters University, and Captain Barbossa and Davy Jones from Pirates of the Caribbean. Each will be priced at $12.99 per figure.
It’s no fluke that all of these confirmed figures fall into each of the announced Play Sets that are included with the Disney Infinity Starter Pack game. More Play Sets and character figures are being kept under wraps from now, but it’s looking likely that a Cars Play Set with two figures – possibly Lightning McQueen and Holly Shiftwell – will be accompanied by two single pack additional figures, Mater and Francesco Bernoulli.
It’s unclear right now how the unannounced figures will released at launch. Will they fall into wave 2 that happens to arrive in stores the same day as wave 1? Activision did that with Skylanders Giants with Hot Head from wave 2 hitting Toys R Us on the same launch date as the game. I suspect that two waves of Disney Infinity figures and Play Sets will be available on day one.
The first revealed three pack is called the Sidekicks Pack and includes Mrs. Incredible, Captain Barbossa, and Mike Wozowski.
