Several Disney Infinity figures including Rapunzel, Vanellope, Wreck-It Ralph and Sorcerer’s Apprentice Mickey Mouse were available to purchase in November and December as exclusive to a single retail outlet. That exclusivity is almost up, and online retailer Amazon.com has begun taking pre-orders for one of the figures with the others expected to appear any day.
Here’s how the Disney Infinity retail exclusives broke down: Rapunzel was tied to Walmart, Vanellope to Target, Wreck-It Ralph to Best Buy, and Sorcerer’s Apprentice Mickey to Amazon.com as part of a massive $200 figure bundle. Aside from Mickey Mouse, the other three store exclusives were near impossible to find as shoppers gobbled them up as Christmas gifts.
Three of those figures: Rapunzel, Wreck-It Ralph and Vanellope, are confirmed to arrive in all stores beginning next Tuesday, January 7. Online retailer Amazon.com has already added a pre-order link for Rapunzel at the actual price of $12.99 and not an inflated reseller price. The other two figures should appear for pre-order any day.
Sorcerer’s Apprentice Mickey Mouse is listed as a February 9, 2013 release at GameStop and Walmart, while Toys R Us has him listed as January 9. I believe Toys R Us has a typo, unless Mickey as a single release will be exclusive to the retailer for a full month. We’ll keep an eye on that and pass along an update as soon as January 9 rolls around.
I’ll cover the release plans for the Phineas and Agent P Disney Infinity figures in a separate post, but you can first find them in their Toy Box Pack with two Power Discs in GameStop beginning on March 14.
