Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome Blu-ray Release Date, New Trailer and Clip

Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome Blu-ray Release Date, New Trailer and ClipBattlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome, the Syfy pilot for a Galactica prequel series that was not picked up, will begin its monthlong web debut via Machinima’s Prime YouTube channel tomorrow. The uncut version won’t make its debut until February 19, 2013, the release date for Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome on Blu-ray and DVD.

The Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome Blu-ray edition will be presented in 1080p video and 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio. It will be unrated and run 1 hour 34 minutes. Unfortunately we do not know how long the edited version coming to Machinima is or I would be able to tell you how many minutes have been tacked on for home video. My guess is one or two at most.

It doesn’t look like Universal will be packing any bonus features into the Blu-ray release of Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome. They will, however, include the pilot on DVD, digital copy and UltraViolet as well in the same package.

In addition to the Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome Blu-ray announcement, here’s a new clip from the pilot that shows young William Adama showing off some ingenuity while under attack by Cylon Raiders, as well as a brand new trailer, followed by the synopsis and Blu-ray cover art.

An all-new chapter in the Battlestar Galactica saga, Blood & Chrome takes place in the midst of the first Cylon war. As the battle between humans and their creation, the sentient robotic Cylons, rages across the 12 colonial worlds, a young, talented fighter pilot, William Adama (Luke Pasqualino, The Borgias), finds himself assigned to one of the most powerful battlestars in the Colonial fleet: the Galactica. Though Adama quickly finds himself at odds with his co-pilot, the battle-weary officer Coker (Ben Cotton, Alcatraz), the two men must set their differences aside when a routine escort mission with an enigmatic passenger (Lili Bordan, Silent Witness) turns dangerous and becomes a pivotal one for the desperate fleet.
