Weekend Box Office Predictions Game: Inception and Sorcery
July 14, 2010

Christopher Nolan's Inception starring Leonardo DiCaprio is all but assured the top spot this upcoming weekend at the box office. The real questions is how big will it open, and can The Sorcerer's Apprentice knock off Despicable Me for second place?
These three films are joined by Summit's The Twilight Saga: Eclipse starring Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner, as well as Robert Rodriguez' Predators with Adrien Brody in the latest round of our weekly interactive Weekend Box Office Prophet Game. Your objective in the game is to predict what these five films will make from Friday, July 16 through Sunday, July 18. Once submitted, your prediction is averaged in with the other players for a cumulative score that competes against the Prophet predictions.
Should the average player differences between the actual box office gross and predicted grosses beat the Prophet for 3 or more of the 5 films, the top player will win The Illusionist on Blu-ray. A tie rules in favor of the players.
If the Prophet comes out on top then this prize will roll into the next round and be joined by another. We will still award a small DVD prize to the top place finisher in the event that happens.
Notice: The Sorcerer's Apprentice opens on Wednesday, July 14 but the box office totals will not be counted in the game until Friday.
Once you are successfully logged in, the average player scores will update in real time below as new predictions are entered. The entry period will close at 9pm PST Thursday, July 15, with this round's results being published Monday evening when the actual box office numbers are made available. Good luck to all!
