![]() The Avengers NYC Central Park Set Spoiler ImagesSeptember 04, 2011 Joss Whedon and Marvel saved some of the best The Avengers on-location scenes for last as a seemingly endless stream of images and videos from the New York City shoot have been showing up online over the past 24-48 hours. I'm a little behind on passing them all along, but am determined to make up for that today starting with the action from Central Park.
There are some potentially huge spoilers in the Central Park images below. If you're at all sensitive to spoilers in the least, it's best to turn around and avoid this article at all costs. The Avengers Central Park shoot looks like the location where the final moments of the film take place. Judging by the images, Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Loki (Tom Hiddleston) are clutching a device that holds the Tesseract. They then likely return to Asgard as several of the Avengers look up to the sky with the Asgardians no longer in the shot. The Tesseract is delivered to the scene by Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) in the same case that Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) showed it to Professor Erik Selvig (Stellan Skarsgard), under the control of Loki, in the post-credits scene of Thor. Fury is nowhere to be seen in this new scene. With Thor and presumably a reformed Loki back to their home, the Avengers leave the scene in style. Captain America (Chris Evans) hops on a Harley, Tony Stark and Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) in a custom built one-of-a-kind Acura, and Hawkeye and Black Widow into a S.H.I.E.L.D. car. Here's some of the best images from the Central Park shoot floating around the Internet. I'll be checking back soon with images from the crashed Quinjet location, the best look at Hawkeye yet, and Stan Lee's cameo.
