![]() Sony Releases Playstation 3D Display this WeekendNovember 12, 2011 On Sunday, November 13, Sony is releasing the 3D display it unveiled at E3 earlier this year that is designed specifically with gamers on a tight budget in mind, though it will also work equally effectively with Blu-ray 3D discs.
The 24-inch 3D display features an LED backlit full HD LCD screen capable of handling 1080p HD with a refresh rate of 240hz. It includes two HDMI inputs and one component input, a pair of 3D glasses with a rechargeable lithium ion battery, an HDMI cable, and MotorStorm Apocalypse for Playstation 3 so it's good to go with 3D Playstation 3 content right out of the box. What differentiates this display from others is the implementation of a new proprietary technology called SimulView. This nifty feature is geared toward two-player split-screen gaming so that each player is seeing the full 3D and high definition effect for their side of the screen. To take advantage of this feature will require a second pair of 3D glasses, and those will also be available on Sunday for $69.99 each. Amazon.com is currently taking pre-orders for the Playstation 3D Display priced at $499.96 including free super saver shipping.
