Punxsutawney Phil Predicts Groundhog Day on Blu-ray in January

Punxsutawney Phil has passed along word from his burrow that Groundhog Day starring Bill Murray will come early this year, arriving in stores on January 27.

Phil didn't actually tell us, but consider the date a safe bet. An official announcement from Sony is expected either this Monday or the following.

Unfortunately we do not have any additional information on Groundhog Day's Blu-ray debut at this time but you can assume a 1080p transfer and 5.1 Dolby TrueHD audio.

Groundhog Day on Blu-ray will retail for $28.95.
