Electronic Arts has announced a playable demo for Madden NFL 09 is now available for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 via free download from Xbox Live Marketplace and the Playstation Network, respectively.

The demo begins in the new Virtual Trainer mode which drops a player into the Madden Test for an IQ test on passing, rushing, pass defense and rush defense. The result serves as a baseline score which adjusts and changes each time a player plays the game.

Madden moments, allowing a player to replay key moments from the 2007 season, are demonstrated through *the* key play from last season: Eli Manning's Super Bowl winning drive. Players will have 2 minutes to drive on the Patriots and take home the trophy.

Madden NFL 09 will arrive in stores on August 12 with 85 new features and enhancements.
