Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Chasing Twilight at Fandango

Advanced ticket sales are soaring at Fandango for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

With a little less than two days until the first midnight showings on July 15, over 1000 showings have sold out. At its current pace, Potter should surpass advanced sales for Twilight and may even threaten Iron Man and The Dark Knight with a last hour surge.

Harry Potter might be challenged by The Twilight Saga: New Moon later this year but for now it is the time for wizards to work their magic.

Here are some intriguing facts Fandango is sharing in regards to Potter's success, aided by a free music download of the song Friends and Love with every advanced ticket purchase:

• One of the fastest-selling titles in Fandango's nine year history, on track to replace Twilight as the company's third top-selling advance ticketer (following Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith and The Dark Knight, occupying the #1 and #2 spots, respectively).
• A higher number of advance tickets sold for Harry Potter 6 than sold for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Iron Man or Sex and the City at the same point in the sales cycle on Fandango.
• 96% of daily ticket sales on Fandango.
