For director Rodrigo Cortés' Buried, Reynolds plays a US contractor working in Iraq who comes under attack by Iraqi insurgents. He awakens after the ambush buried in a coffin with nothing more than a lighter and a cell phone at his disposal and limited time to escape before suffocating.
