From the writer of The Wrestler, Robert Siegel also makes his Gotham Award-winning directorial debut tale of Paul Aufiero, a middle-aged man who lives and breathes "Big Blue" football. When a chance encounter with his favorite player quickly turns disastrous, the self-proclaimed "World's Biggest Giants Fan" finds himself in the hospital and the star player suspended. As the Giants begin losing and playoff hopes begin to fade, Paul must decide how big of a fan he really is - and whether or not the team's needs should come before his own.
