 Bree Tanner Twilight Spin-Off Movie Moving Forward?September 04, 2010
Twilight fever will be a fevered pitch when The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part II rolls around and Summit would be foolish to let it dissipate. That's why I'm not willing to completely dismiss the following rumor, even if it comes from a first-time scooper with little evidence to back it up and likely won't be proven true or false for at least a year.
According to the scooper who sent an email to What's Playing, Summit will shift its attention to one or more Bree Tanner films after Twilight concludes. "It goes without saying Summit want to continue this franchise… Tanner is the one they're looking at post-Breaking Dawn," the email read. It's too early to talk casting, and everything we're hearing is just speculation or off a wish list, but I don't believe they plan on using the original actress, Jodelle Ferland, for the spin-off film. It's all about numbers and names - you guys know that.... Chloe Moretz. Elle Fanning."
The story of Bree Tanner already exists in Stephenie Meyer's book The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner. It has been on bookshelves since March of this year and seems the logical choice to turn into a screenplay and put on the big screen.
Either way, all this rumor accomplishes at the moment is triggering a Bree casting controversy while Breaking Dawn isn't fully cast yet.

The Twilight films are a cash cow and are solely responsible for padding Summit Entertainment's bank account. But there are only two films left over the next two years, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part I and Part II, which puts Summit's post-2012 potential posh earnings in question.
