 Blu-ray 3D on PS3 Coming in OctoberSeptember 02, 2010
In a keynote address at IFA in Berlin yesterday, Sony CEO Howard Stringer announced Blu-ray 3D support would be released sometime in October. Stringer did not offer an exact release date for the firmware update which leaves open the possibility of another slip into November or December. It was originally thought to be coming in September.
As of right now, Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs is the only standalone Blu-ray 3D title available in stores. Monster House is on tap for later this month and Disney will release its first, A Christmas Carol, in December. Whether Sony is able to make the October date or not seems inconsequential given the current lack of standalone software support.

Sony has pushed back the date of a firmware update that will enable PS3 consoles to playback Blu-ray 3D titles but is still on track to offer the upgrade by year's end.
