Esteemed British actors have been whirling through the Harry Potter revolving door since the first film with one notable exception: Bill Nighy. Mr. Nighy has been outspoken in the past about his exclusion from the series and with only one film left, the door is almost shut for good.

According to a new quote from Nighy himself in an article at The Independent, the Brit actor most recently recognizable for his role in all three Underworld films has been cast by his friend David Yates in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. "I don't think I'm allowed to say it but I'm going to be in the next Harry Potter film."

Already having said too much, Nighy stops short of revealing which character he's in line to play stating, "I won't say which character, but he's a goodie. I just got the gig."

The obvious choice would be next in line for the Minister of Magic post, Rufus Scrimgeour. The Minister's role has been a hot spot for British actors and Nighy would be a fantastic choice to bring the series to a close.

With filming already underway Nighy has a lot of catching up to do. You see, he's yet to read any of the Potter books. "Not yet, but I will! It's rather like being in a Shakespeare that way, you know?"

I can't exactly relate but will take his word for it.

The sixth installment in the Harry Potter films, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, opens theatrically on July 15.
