Batman Anthology Blu-ray Announced with Cover Art

Warner Home Video has confirmed months of rampant Internet rumors by announcing Batman: The Motion Picture Anthology is headed to Blu-ray Disc on March 10.

The set includes all four of the 1980s/90s Batman films: Batman, Batman Returns, Batman & Robin and Batman Forever. Like The Matrix collection, none of the films will be available individually. At least for now, anyways, noting the upcoming individual release of The Matrix in a Digi-book configuration.

Based on the rear packaging image which you can view below, it does not appear as if Warner has added any new bonus material to these films. It will include 18 hours of extras, presumably all ported from the previous DVD releases.

• Documentaries
• Making-of featurettes
• 9 music videos
• Director's commentaries by Tim Burton and Joel Schumacher

Audio buffs will be happy to hear Warner is deploying 5.1 Dolby TrueHD lossless audio on all four films to go along with 1080p video transfers.

Batman: The Motion Picture Anthology will retail for a steep $129.95 which should turn into around $85 dollars when pre-orders launch at Amazon.com.
