 Avatar Blu-ray 3D Confirmed as Panasonic ExclusiveSeptember 02, 2010
Rumors of Panasonic striking a deal with Twentieth Century Fox first popped up in late May but updates on the deal have been quiet through the summer months. Though Panasonic has confirmed the rumor, the details of which 3D components will be bundled with the Viera TVs and Avatar Blu-ray 3D are still being ironed out.
While owners of Samsung or Sony 3D rigs are out of luck on Avatar Blu-ray 3D until sometime in 2011 when it becomes available for individual resale, early adopters of Panasonic Viera 3D sets are expected to have access to Avatar Blu-ray 3D when it becomes available during the first week of December. Those details are also still being ironed out.
Fox has yet to comment or make any public confirmation of an exclusive deal with Panasonic for Avatar Blu-ray 3D so we do not know what cut of the film or bonus features will be included. An official announcement with finalized details is expected in the coming weeks.

Panasonic consumer marketing VP Victor Carlson confirmed to Twice earlier today that the Blu-ray 3D debut of James Cameron's Avatar will initially be exclusive with the purchase of a Panasonic Viera 3D plasma HDTV.
