Rian Johnson Tweets Star Wars: Episode VIII Script Cover Page

Star Wars: Episode VIII script

Writer/director Rian Johnson felt yesterday was a good day to update a few friends and then ultimately the world on his progress developing the script for Star Wars: Episode VIII. A simple text tweet would have sufficed, but Johnson chose to share a visual that speaks for itself.

Without giving away a single spoiler, Johnson tweeted the Star Wars: Episode VIII script cover page featuring the temporary film title, his name, and absolutely nothing else. We have no idea what draft this is, but we do know that Star Wars: Episode VIII begins production in the first half of 2016.

Think about this tweet for a second. We still haven’t received the first true Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens trailer with sustained dialogue and here we are talking about the script for Episode VIII. And we’re doing this while Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is well into production with a first teaser trailer likely dropping with The Force Awakens in December.

Times have certainly changed in a galaxy far, far away, and I’m loving every minute of it.
