Gwendoline Christie’s Captain Phasma “chrometrooper” from Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens has become one of the more mysterious characters in the upcoming film from director J.J. Abrams. We know what she wears and her allegiance to the First Order, but that’s about it.
Empire is continuing their extensive run of Star Wars: The Force Awakens exclusives with an all-new Captain Phasma image to add to the growing collection. In the new image, Phasma has her weapon in a firing position during the night attack on a small Jakku village that takes place in the film’s opening act.
Abrams has already admitted that Phasma won’t appear in many scenes. However, when she does appear her presence will be felt.
I’d like to know why her armor is chrome, why she wears a cape, and what makes her so special to wears this presumably advanced armor over all the other stormtroopers. These questions may or may not be answered in the film. If I had to guess, Captain Phasma will remain a mystery much like Boba Fett was in the Original Trilogy.
