Captain America: Civil War Principal Photography Wrapped This Weekend; Still No Trailer

That’s a wrap on Captain America: Civil War principal photography as tweeted on Saturday by Marvel co-president and producer, Louis D’Esposito. At this stage the film will move into post production in anticipation of its May 6, 2016 release date.

With Captain America: Civil War now a little over eight months away from release, we are well within the window of when Disney and Marvel will drop the first Captain America: Civil War into the public domain. A trailer debuted during Disney’s D23 earlier this month to a standing ovation but said footage has not yet been seen outside the event’s walls.

We’ll definitely get a Captain America: Civil War trailer sometime between now and the end of the year. The very latest I would expect to see it is attached to Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens on December 18. It will sting a little if we have to wait that long so let’s hope for an early Christmas gift.

Captain America: Civil War is directed by Anthony Russo and Joe Russo. It stars seemingly everyone in the Marvel Cinematic Universe save for Chris Hemsworth as Thor. This includes Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Sebastian Stan, Elizabeth Olsen, Tom Holland, Paul Bettany, Frank Grillo, Emily VanCamp, Anthony Mackie, Chadwick Boseman, and William Hurt.
