Red Dead Redemption 2 Announced; Trailer This Thursday

Red Dead Redemption 2

Red Dead Redemption 2 was officially announced this morning following a pair of teaser images dropped via social media by Rockstar Games over the past couple days.

Here’s what we know about Red Dead Redemption 2 for Xbox One and PS4 at this time. The official Red Dead Redemption 2 release date is scheduled for fall 2017. A precise date announcement isn’t expected until sometime in the first half of next year.

The Red Dead Redemption 2 key art above depicts seven cowboys. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that the number is seven given The Magnificent Seven western movie. In fact I’d expect that film to serve as part of the game’s inspiration.

We also know that online play will be introduced in Red Dead Redemption 2 as confirmed via the official synopsis:

Developed by the creators of Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption, Red Dead Redemption 2 is an epic tale of life in America’s unforgiving heartland. The game’s vast and atmospheric world will also provide the foundation for a brand new online multiplayer experience.

The first Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer will arrive online this Thursday, October 20th at 11 am EST / 8 am PST. You won’t want to miss it.
