EA Sports announced during the 2015 NHL Awards earlier today that Chicago Blackhawks teammates Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane will share the NHL 16 cover along with a famous piece of hardware.

Toews and Kane have been on the Blackhawks for the city’s past three Stanley Cup wins and are seen on the NHL 16 cover art hoisting Lord Stanley’s famous trophy. Their appearance marks the first time in the game franchise’s multi-decade history that two players have shared the cover.

“I’m honored to not only share the Stanley Cup Championship with Patrick, but to share the EA SPORTS NHL 16 cover with him too,” said Toews in the official announcement. “Our team’s passion and dedication have made this all possible – and I’m sure fans will be fired up about it.”

“Being teamed up with Jonathan for the NHL 16 cover is a great feeling,” added Kane. “I never would have imagined being on the cover twice, and the fact this is happening on top of our team taking home the Cup is unreal.”
