Lego Ninjago Shadow of Ronin Coming to 3DS and PS Vita in Spring 2015

Lego Ninjago Shadow of Ronin

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment (WBIE) has announced a new entry is in the works for the growing Lego Ninjago video game library that will put the ninjas up against an enemy unlike they have faced before.

Lego Ninjago Shadow of Ronin is the game’s name, and it is being developed by TT Fusion, a subsidiary of TT Games, exclusively for Nintendo 3DS and Sony PS Vita. Unlike this past year’s Lego Ninjago Nindroids game, this new entry in the series is not based on the ongoing Lego Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu TV show.

The game introduces Ronin, a new threat who commands a dark army of samurai soldiers. Ronin has obtained an ancient weapon known as the Obsidian Glaive that is able to steal the ninjas memories, and with them their knowledge of how to wield their elemental powers. The ninjas will have to locate Obisidian weapons to recover their memories and stop Ronin before he can execute a grander plan.

Here’s some extra information about the game from the official press release, including confirmation that Dareth aka the Brown ninja is still hanging around.

In LEGO Ninjago: Shadow of Ronin players will battle through iconic locales from the TV series, including the Ice Temple, the Toxic Bogs, and a mysterious new island, as well as visit the mountain village of Spinjago, where the Ninjas are currently training with Grand Sensei Dareth and Sensei Wu.  Using their Spinjitzu abilities, players can unleash their Ninja’s elemental power to smash their way through enemies and solve puzzles.  They can even team up and create multi-elemental builds using the Tornado of Creation.

Lego Ninjago Shadow of Ronin is set for a spring 2015 release, after the rumored January premiere date for the new season of Lego Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu on cartoon network. That’s Ronin himself in the key art seen above.
