The goal of Sega’s upcoming Alien: Isolation video game is simple: navigate a spaceship and stay alive while a deadly alien creature hunts you down. It’s a direct play on the atmospheric tension and horror of Ridley Scott’s 1979 Alien film, only this time it’s Ripley’s daughter discovering that in space, no one can hear you scream.
A new Alien: Isolation trailer, the first in a series that celebrate the game going gold, explores the environments that players will have to familiarize themselves with in order to survive. Noise or learning how to avoid making it and/or redirecting it away from your position, can be the difference between life or death.
The best part of the trailer is how it ends, which is something that will likely happen to every player several times through the course of gameplay.
Alien: Isolation makes its debut for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, PS4 and Windows PC on October 7.
