Transformers: Age of Extinction Reaches $1 Billion at Global Box Office

Transformers: Age of Extinction 1 Billion

Michael Bay hasn’t lost his golden touch as Transformers: Age of Extinction recently crossed the $1 billion mark at the global box office. The accomplishment isn’t a surprise considering Transformers: Dark of the Moon did the same without the draw of gnarly Dinobots, but worth mentioning nonetheless.

Paramount is of course ecstatic with the endurance Bay’s Transformers franchise has displayed through four bombastic films and counting. They’re so pleased, in fact, that some extra promotional dollars spent on a two-page spread in Home Media Retailing magazine to announce the $1 billion news and tease the upcoming Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD release was an easy decision to make.

As for a Transformers: Age of Extinction Blu-ray release date, the jury is still out on that one. Late September or mid-October seems likely given Dark of the Moon was released on September 30. We’re getting close to the time when Paramount will be making a formal announcement and we’ll be certain to pass it along once received.
